Combination Options - Flexible and Affordable

With the Axio Scope.A1, Carl Zeiss MicroImaging provides a flexible, high-performance modular microscope platform specially designed for routine applications in materials microscopy. New instrument solutions and the high-quality EC Epiplan line of objectives will meet the demands of users faced with specific routine tasks in materialography. This new generation of microscopes has been tailored to the requirements of quality inspection, damage analysis and production inspection.

The extreme flexibility of the microscope is achieved with five upper parts, three lower parts and two Vario columns which can be selected for the respective requirements and combined into an optimally customized system. The Axio Scope A.1 offers exceptionally large scalability of the sample area, which can be continuously set for sample sizes up to 380 mm for numerous applications, depending on the configuration. 2-position sliders, 4-position and 6-position reflector turrets are available as reflector modules, depending on the application. In any case, it is possible to quickly and easily switch between the different contrasting techniques.

In addition to traditional contrasting techniques in reflected and transmitted light such as brightfield, darkfield, DIC and polarization, Axio Scope.A1 now also enables innovative techniques such as C-DIC and PlasDIC. The line of high-contrast EC Epiplan objectives was specially developed for routine applications. They produce a flat image for a 23 mm field and are available in brightfield and brightfield/darkfield versions. As they are produced with low strain, they are ideal for high-quality DIC microscopy. This line of objectives enables the innovative C-DIC technique (Differential Interference Contrast in circularly polarized light) with only a single prism. Furthermore, the entire spectrum of objectives from Carl Zeiss is available.

Thanks to the modular design of the Axio Scope.A1, many components can be easily retrofitted by the customer, if required. ZEISS microscope cameras such as the AxioCam ICc1 or ICc3 and AxioVision software supplement the microscope.

New Modularity.
Five upper parts, three lower parts and two Vario columns enable you to configure your microscope as required. For simple or more complex demands. For transmitted light, reflected light, or both.

23 Stand Versions are Possible.

The optimum solution for your application and your budget.
The Axio Scope is as individual as the applications you use it for.

Economical Upgrading - Simple and cost-effective.
The modular interface design of Axio Scope makes future upgrades quite simple. This is an attractive economical aspect because you can easily install many components yourself.

The diversity of interfaces is a special performance feature of the Axio Scope and depends on what upper and lower parts are combined.

The objective series - Experience enhanced contrast

Maximized image information – This is the Carl Zeiss goal for the objectives from Axio Imager. A wide range of objectives provides customized solutions for demands in all price and performance categories.

Epiplan_Apochromat

The economical Epiplan objectives: Achromaticallycorrected and made strain-minimized, for example, for high-quality DIC. They create a flat field image for a 23 mm field of view and are available as H, HD and LD models.

The high-contrast EC Epiplan-Neofluar objectives: Perfect for precise imaging of fine color and structural details, e.g. lamella in spherulitic graphite. Excellently corrected and made strain free for sharp C-DIC, they create a flattened image for a 25 mm field of view and are available as DIC, HD CDIC, Pol and LD models.

The impressive EC Epiplan-Apochromat objectives: The objective series with the best correction and the highest numerical aperture, e.g. EC Epiplan- Apochromat 20x/0.60. These outstanding objectives are ideal for imaging color and structural details in the sub-micrometer range.

The illumination concept - Obtaining more information. An innovative illumination concept has been specially developed for Axio Skope A1. It enables you to see your specimens in brightfield and darkfield through new eyes – with minimized stray light and virtually error-free. Image contrast is outstanding, especially in interference contrast, even at very high magnifications. A new concept in transmitted light: the innovative darkfield condenser. It provides perfect illumination of the 2.5x to 100x objectives without changing condensers, impossible up to now. After all, excellent illumination is the prerequisite for excellent image quality.

DIC_Applications

C-DIC - Experience more contrast. Significantly optimized for Axio Scope A1: the Carl Zeiss contrasting technique C-DIC with needle-sharp, highcontrast images. It enables you to see structures and sample details in unprecedented brilliance and precision. The C-DIC modules have also been further optimized. Operation is even easier and faster. The expanded adjustment range with continuous transition from gray to higher orders offer greater flexibility and operating comfort.

The ergotube - A new dimension in comfort.
Used for the first time with Axio Imager, the new 50-15-50 ergotube from Carl Zeiss with upright, unreversed image is available for use with the Axio Scope A1. With a continuous 50 mm height adjustment, a fixed viewing angle of 15° (ergonomically ideal) and a continuous horizontal extension of 50 mm, it satisfies the highest standards in terms of comfort and provides unrestricted optical quality in all positions.
